The submission period for the international “Culture Online” award began at the start of the summer and will end on October 6, 2024. One week are left to submit your projects that best demonstrate the effective combination of modern technologies, tools, and methods with the cultural world. Applications are accepted online on the award’s official website.

Famous figures from the arts and culture fields have been invited to evaluate the projects. They will select seven outstanding participants who will become winners in the following categories:

  • Best Online Project 2024— the main award category for projects in the fields of theater, music, cinema and other arts.
  • Best Collaboration — for projects carried out in tandem or if the project is implemented in two formats — online and offline.
  • Best IT Solution for the Cultural Sector — for projects that effectively implement digital technologies, VR/AR, mobile apps, online games, etc.
  • Best Social Media Campaign— one of the most popular categories, recognizing cultural projects with the best social media promotion in terms of content, presentation, or other features.
  • Best Education and Outreach Project — a category for online educational projects, including lectures, master classes, training courses, programs, and more.
  • Best Livestreaming Project — this category is for projects that showcase cultural events live from a location through the Internet.
  • Best AI Integration in Culture — a new category introduced in 2024, aimed at identifying the best project utilizing neural networks, generative algorithms, and other AI technologies.

The international “Online Culture” award was founded by the Russian Cultural Foundation in 2020 and is today one of the most prestigious awards in the field of digital art in Russia. It aims to increase the importance and influence of innovative technologies in the development of culture. Over the five years of the award’s existence, more than 1,300 applications from 25 countries and dozens of Russian cities have been submitted. 130 finalist projects have been selected, and 42 winners have been awarded in various categories.
