"Moviestart.Ru" is an information portal created in 2013 for debutant directors, regional filmmakers, as well as for everyone who is interested in festival, regional and short films, new media, web series and films of the future.
The materials about cinema and TV-related events, festivals, pitchings, news of film schools, film studios and regional cinematographic communities, interviews with the masters of filmmaking and television, as well as with aspiring filmmakers, educational materials and book selections are posted at the website.
The portal features the most updated base of Russian and international contests and festivals for aspiring filmmakers and students of film schools.
One of the key areas of work for the portal is a news blog for young filmmakers — a daily accumulator of relevant news from the film world primarily dedicated to the debut, festival, highly conceptual and regional films.
News blog format: posts at the website, a newsletter, a set of thematic communities in social media: Vkontakte, Facebook, Instagram, and Telegram.
In the framework of the portal, a few large-scale educational and outreach projects have been implemented, such as:
"Your First Film" — an online lecture course about the film industry and its professions for aspiring filmmakers. The project was implemented with support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
"The Guide" — a selection of festivals, pitchings, film schools, festival agencies, online platforms, and distributors.
"How Films Are Made" – a series of interviews for young filmmakers introduces specificities of the creative process for everyone, from debutants to filmmaking masters.
«Russian Web Series: from Boomers to Zoomers» — in the framework of the project, we tell the audience about the Russian web industry. The project was supported by the Institute of Internet Development.

The goal: to increase awareness of the audience about the national and foreign projects and film industries; to expand the opportunities of young directors to find professional identity.
