#OperaPushkin

Pushkin's work has always resonated with musicians and opera librettists, making him one of the most adapted Russian writers for opera. As part of this project, starting June 6 throughout the summer, Novaya Opera Theatre actively introduced social media followers to operatic works based on Pushkin's plots. The discussions included compositions by 19th-early 20th-century composers based on Pushkin themes and outstanding performances of these works. A key aspect of this project was collaboration with the Museum of Musical and Theatrical Art in Saint Petersburg, which provided rare visual material for demonstration. The project launch coincided with Pushkin's birthday on June 6. It concluded in August when, after the summer holidays, the theatre presented one of its legendary productions—Tchaikovsky's opera Eugene Onegin, interpreted by its founder and eminent conductor Evgeny Kolobov.
