The 8th Lukomorye International Festival of Russian Theaters Abroad, which took place in the Russian House in Budapest, was broadcast online from October 7 to 9.
5 theaters took part in the festival dedicated to the 200-th anniversary of F. Dostoyevsky's birth.
Online broadcast was made in preparation for a possible lockdown declaration in Hungary. Initially, organizers invited 6 Russian-language foreign theaters' to present their solo performances at the festival, but the theater set in Bulgaria could not join the show due to the illness of the its art director.
Then the organizers decided to launch an online broadcast of the festival to see the play of the Bulgarian theater. Not only the participants of the current festival, but guest theaters of the previous seven Lukomorye festivals, i.e. 45 collectives from near and far abroad, were invitated to watch it as well.
